My philosophy is to start with the customer and work backwards...in other words, if the customer comes first everything else will fall in to place!

If you're a first time home buyer you are probably wondering about the enormity of it all. Buying a home is the largest single purchase anyone ever makes, regardless of the income bracket you fall in to. It's also very personal, as this is your HOME we're talking about. Add up those two factors, and you have an incredibly emotional purchase. As it should be! When I work with buyers, many of them first-timers, I'm reminded of an analogy that was mentioned by a home-owner:

"It’s a bit like dating… You see the house on-line and you like it but you are detached. You review the details and it piques your curiosity. You tour the house (the first “date”) and you observe the good and bad qualities. You go home and ignore the bad qualities and obsess on the good ones. You become more attached. You drive by the house; you tell your friends about the house, you imagine decorating the house. You make a bid. Then your real estate agent tells you that you lost out in a multiple bid situation and the “relationship” is over. You mope, you cry. You tell yourself if was not that great anyway, and recount all the bad qualities in detail. You go out on another date…."

It's really very close to the emotional road-map as one moves through the process of finding and purchasing a home! So, when you're choosing a Buyer's agent to work with, be sure that they: A. Can relate to YOU & B. Will put your interests ahead of their own...because it's YOUR home you're looking for!

Buyer testimonial:

"Being a first time buyer, I was very nervous about making such a large investment. In addition, being a single career woman, I was even more concerned that I would not get correct details or direction in my buying decision and would end up making a costly decision. Going into the entire event, I truly had no intentions to buy and simply wanted to get an idea of what was out there. In Seattle, real estate is much higher than what I’m used to from my Midwest roots. But, Sandy did a fabulous job talking me through the financial details (as I had zero knowledge in this area). In addition, her continuous patience over the months were unimaginable! She made the entire process easy, fluid and no work at my end…which makes life easy after long days at work! After supplying her with my likes and dislikes and one day of visiting some homes, she quickly was in tune to what I was looking for…maybe even more so than myself!

She was courteous enough to pick me up and supply me with my list of homes we would be looking at that day, without me even sending ONE suggestion. After a few months, I had found the place of my dreams…and had gone into things thinking it would never happen and I’d never be ready to buy. She knew instantly that I loved this place (after the MANY, MANY places we looked at). And due to this, she was relentless with the agent to ensure my offer received a strong acknowledgement by the buyers….and, sure enough! I am now officially a home-owner.

Sandy made one of the scariest life situations so easy…I still almost cannot believe that I’m a home owner and in this beautiful house!"
